Make an impression with a quality business card

January 17th, 2013

Every profession these days warrants a business card, but the look, feel and what you say on that business card generates a lasting impression with however you leave it with.

A business card is an important piece of marketing and sales collateral.  It is an imperative tool which assists with business development and ultimately sales, but is also a forum for showcasing your brand.  Therefore, not only must it do the job of communicating the vital information the recipient of this card needs to know, but it must also more subtly convey brand identity and values.

This means that it is ever more important when creating your business cards, to spend some time thinking about additional things rather than just making sure your name, title, address and contact details are correct and typo free…you must also consider the type of stock it is printed onto and what impression that with give when in someone’s hand.

For example, it would not be acceptable for the Directors of a large multinational corporate organisation to be handing out flimsy business card printed on 180gsm matt card.  No way, they should be looking at much heavier stock, perhaps matt laminated for better finish.  In some cases you may require a metallic embossing, or evidence of recycled materials depending on the brand values of your business.

Of course, you don’t have to be a multinational corporate business to warrant such a nice business card, every business must consider how important it is for them to appear professional and therefore instil confidence in the recipient of the card, your potential customer, that you are genuine and will provide a fantastic service or product.

The other major thing to consider when designing your card and procuring it from your local business card printers, is to ensure you use a legible font type, size and colour to ensure it can be easily read.  Colours and fonts should tie in with your company logo if you have one, and also consider proximity to logos or edges of the card, as well as ensuring everything is nicely aligned for a clean, professional feel.

Finally, when designing your card also consider what else you can do to make sure you are remembered and that your card is easily located when in amongst a pile of competitors.  Remember a lot of the time you will be giving out your business cards at networking events, where the recipient will be taking home your one card in with a bunch of others.  Sometimes it can feel awkward to give someone your card, you may feel that they don’t actually want to take it, but by employing a design tactic such as one rounded corner, a hole in it, printed on black recycled board rather than bog standard white board, can help the recipient remember you and your business.  Not only that but it can be a talking point making them happy to receive it and leave a lasting positive impression of you.

At 1ClickPrint we can offer both a range of standard options for those businesses on a budget, and also a more bespoke, innovative approach to making your business card investment work harder for you.

Top tips when designing high impacting posters

November 19th, 2012

Traditional marketing tactics remain a critical part of any strategy and are a highly effective form of communication stretching across any industry.  Whether you are promoting a new product or service, an event or even a serious message, posters are the perfect way to grab attention and communicate your message.

Posters are an inexpensive and highly effective marketing technique, which can be designed within you own company using a variety of software packages.  To help you design something that will do exactly what you need it to do, we have put together a few top tips to incorporate into your design.

# 1  Consider your choice of fonts
With an array of funky, traditional, and impacting fonts available free of charge, not every font type is suitable for your design as fonts are used to generate a feeling as well as communicate a message. If your poster is delivering a serious message, maybe something to do with Health & Safety, or raising awareness of a serious illness, then you should use a more formal and impacting, less elaborate and easily legible font style. If however your poster is about a concert, pantomime or other festive event then the use of more fancy, fun and festive fonts are more suitable.

# 2  Choose your colours wisely
Consider colours that work well together and avoid the ones that clash.   Clashing colours can be quite offensive to the eye and put your audience off as well as negatively impacting the entire design.   A colour palate of complimenting tones can generate more interest, increasing the impact of your design, whilst allowing the text and image to be digested with greater ease.

# 3  Images speak a thousand words
A well selected and relevant image can communicate so much, and with a poster you should ensure the amount of words you use is limited.  Using strong and impacting imagery can maximize the effectiveness of your poster. A strong, appropriate image can stand alone reducing the need for words to explain the message you communicating.

# 4  Less is more
Balancing the amount of empty space  on your poster is not just blank wasted space as some people my think.  Just because you are working on a limited size canvas doesn’t mean you need to make the most of it by filling every last inch with text or images.  By balancing ‘white space’ with other visual elements, you keep your poster clean, clear, and uncluttered, therefore focussing the attention of your reader on the important information on your poster.

1ClickPrint offer quality poster printing in a variety of standard sizes and lengths of print run, as well as being able to accommodate printing just a few copies of bespoke sizes.  Click on the Poster printing button for more information and promotions.

Leaflets printed for successful direct mail campaigns

August 22nd, 2012

Communicating with your target market in a clear and concise, yet informative and appealing way, is crucial to developing your business.  Direct mail is a highly effective way to communicate information about your products and services directly into the hands of people who may be interested in it.

Whilst one key component for a successful direct-mail campaign is a high-quality mailing list, so too is the style, format and quality of information you choose to print in your leaflets.

Leaflet printing is probably the simplest and cheapest form of direct marketing. And 1Clickprint offer fantastic deals on both standard and bespoke leaflet options, both digital and litho printed.  If you want to see a return on your investment, you need to prepare your materials carefully. Ensure materials look professional, reflect your brand and consist of all the information a customer will require to make a decision.  Clear contact details are imperative and where possible your leaflet printing should be personalised for maximum impact.  Feedback is important and offering an incentive like a discount or special offer can prove a successful way to monitor your campaign.

If you need help designing and creating your artwork then why not let our professional graphic design unit do this for you.  Whether its creating a new brand identity, or simply laying out an A5 leaflet, 1Clickprint can help to both design and print your marketing material.

Be creative with your leaflet printing design to stand out from your competitors

August 17th, 2012

More traditional marketing tactics are making a strong come back, and implementing a few simple, yet impacting techniques, you can make sure your leaflet stands out from your competitors.

  1. At 1clickprint we have a large range of different paper options and changing the look and feel of your leaflet can have significant impact on how your customer will respond to it in their hand.
  2. Using a non-standard paper size or finishing format can also make your leaflet stand out.  Be imaginative, perhaps have it die-cut into a shape for maximum impact, or use a non-traditional fold out technique to generate more interest in your piece.
  3. If your objectives for this direct marketing campaign necessitate more than one key message, or if you have to convey multiple benefits/USPs, then don’t squash the information into a small space, simply print a double sided leaflet or upgrade to a booklet format.  Multiple page, saddled stitched mini brochures can too be very cost effective.
  4. Don’t be afraid of colour, images and typography, they are all very important and if you don’t have the skill to graphically design your leaflet yourself, then we can do it for you.

‘One Stop Shop’ for quality poster printing

August 15th, 2012

1ClickPrint are offering great deals on both individual and multiple poster printing in a range of sizes and finishes.

Poster printing is a great way to promote your events, services and products, and can be designed and printed at fly poster A4 format, all the way up to bespoke billboard size and all sizes, bespoke or standard, in between.

Some people when displaying their posters outdoors have the facility to encase their posters behind a Perspex or glass barrier, A-Boards or other encapsulating devices specific for these means.  Often though, this is not the case, so before you get your posters printed you need to know if they need to withstand the elements or not.  We can offer great prices on external posters in weatherproof materials, printed using UV resistant inks, to give your posters increased durability and best quality finish to promote your activity.

A few key things to bare in mind when designing your posters are the resolution of images you are using.  Make sure you use images that are at least 200dpi, but preferably 300 dpi.  Always make sure your key message is clear and easy to read in passing, so keep text to a minimum and large enough to read from a distance.

Striking colours and imagery work well on posters, but do not confuse the eye with too many different colours, font styles and clutter.  If you do not have the expertise in house to create your own posters, then remember that 1ClickPrint can offer you a professional graphic design service in addition to printing the finished product for you.

Top tips for creating eye catching posters and banners

August 9th, 2012

As part of your marketing mix you will be looking at opportunities for promoting your products, services or an event you are hosting or attending, and creating large scale posters and banners are a great way to get this message across.

These types of materials are often mostly used by the retail or events industries, but more and more companies are coming to us for assistance designing and printing large format graphics for posters, canvases and mounted boards for use at exhibitions, trade shows and public consultation events.  As long as you have permission to display something, then investing in the creation of professionally printed banners and posters will grab people’s attention and generate more interest in whatever it is that you are offering.

Of course, the design of your poster or banner is imperative to how well it is received and what interest it can generate.  To get maximum impact you should consider the implementation of the following points:

  1. Decide which printed format best suits your needs, are you displaying internally with a short shelf life, or externally for a longer duration?  This will impact both the format your elect to use and also the material you choose to print onto.
  2. What is your key message?  What exactly are you trying to achieve from this campaign.
  3. Choose appropriate fonts, for example if your message is formal, don’t use Comic Sans.  If you are placing text on a background image then make sure you use a Bold, chunky font with the use of a contrasting stroke (outline) if required.
  4. Do not exceed 2 font types, differing fonts can create impact and identify key points in your design, but too many different fonts can create chaos and ruin the appearance.
  5. Keep the amount of text you use as brief as possible.  Remember that in most cases people needs to read and digest your message as they walk by.
  6. Proof reading is key, not just to check for spelling mistakes, but also for readability.
  7. Where possible always create your artwork at 100%, and have in mind whether you are having the artwork printed digitally or litho as this will impact whether your artwork and all its components should be set to CMYK or RGB.
  8. Always use high resolution images, a minimum of 300dpi is required for clean, non-pixellated print production.

Standard sizes such as A0, A1 and A2 are going to be cheaper to produce, but we can print onto any size you require for the space you need to fill.  A customised size is available price on request, so give us a call for a quotation, having on hand the exact sizes you require, the type of finish and the material/paper type required.
