Printing tips, offers and news

Quality printed colour leaflets are crucial for any business

Its true to say that every business at some point will reply on some form of promotional activity to drum up some new business.  Whether it’s a mailshot, exhibition or trade show, or even handing them out in the street, printed leaflets are a means to communicate your service or product offering that can be very cost effective.

Whilst it is a traditional promotional tool, leaflet distribution is still a very effective means or communication and to make sure you give the right message to your customers or potential customers you need to make sure you procure quality colour leaflets printed to a high standard and finish, that will do your business justice.

It can be difficult to get the best quality service, the fastest turnaround, the cheapest delivery price, best finish, on the best paper type using the most up to date technology and machinery, all for the best and cheapest price.  What you need to do is decide which of these options you can afford to compromise on, and this will be dictated either by your budget or your brand values.

Whenever you decide to embark on any direct marketing campaign, with the rules these days and the pure amount of unsolicited mail that people receive on a daily basis, you have to make every effort to ensure you have preselected a target market group of individuals that would be happy to receive your leaflet.  Distributing on mass can be beneficial to some businesses but for others it can be detrimental.  This is something work considering and if in doubt it may be better to undertake a leaflet hand out campaign in addition to a mailshot.  If you pay for someone to stand in your local town or city centre and hand out your leaflets to passers by, they will either happily take one, or walk by and refuse.  At least you are not forcefully imparting your material on to someone who doesn’t actually want it.

Again whichever distribution channel you take, this will have an impact on the number of leaflets you actually need printing, which will in turn determine whether you go down the digital printing route, or the litho printing route.  Basically digital printing is traditionally used for short print runs on standard sized papers, litho is for larger print runs, often for multi-page brochures or more bespoke finishes.  Litho arguably produces the best quality print finish, but these days digital is a very close rival, so for something like leaflet printing the digital option is usually the preferred option for both price, fast turnaround and sufficient quality, plus most printers have digital printers and know that its bother easier for them and less bulky a piece of equipment as well, so their running costs and overheads are lower, allowing for a more competitive price on digital prints when compared with litho too.
